On March 12, 2022 employees, family and friends from the Lake County Tribal Health organization played pickleball on the Lincoln Street pickleball courts in Kelseyville. Many of the participant were also members of the Lake County Tennis Association. The event was organized by Mildred Toledo from the Tribal Health. She was also joined by the Tribal Health CFO, Bret Woods. There were around 30 participants and for many of the players this was their first time playing pickleball. Everyone had a great time.
These new pickleball courts were installed by members of the Lake County Tennis Association back in December 2021 and have seen a significant increase in their usage over the last couple of months. The courts are open to the public but the potable nets are only installed on Wednesday and Friday by the Association. Paddles and balls are also available. If interested in playing call (707) 289-4755 for the time when play starts. Membership in the Association in not required to play but being a member help show your support for this critical and most need recreational activity. You can join the Association by clicking on the “JOIN” button at the left of the home page.
Tribal Health also holds events on Saturday/Sunday. Call Mildred Toledo at (707) 972-9074 for more information about the exact time and dates.
During the event Bret presented Mike Shay, President of the Lake County Tennis Association with a check donating $2,500 to the Association for the future expansion of the facility. The future expansion will include adding one or two more courts with portable nets and benches. It is anticipated the work will begin in the spring.
